Verkol started its activity in 1923. Its founders , Fernando Elósegui Alday and Jose Luis Moreno Luque, began as importers of the North-American lubricants ALBANY & COOK. Shortly after that, in the begining of the 30's, they started their own production of motor oils and industrial lubricants. The first manufacturing plant was placed in Lasarte, Guipuzcoa.

Due to the beginning of the Spanish Civil War in 1936, and the subsequent implementation of a State owned monopoly in the sector, through the company CAMPSA, Verkol was forced to stop its activity within the motor oil production. Bearing in mind this new situation, and with a great strategic feeling, Verkol focused its activity in the industrial lubricants sector, mainly in the production of greases.

Thanks to the positive evolution and its continuous growth, in 1972 Verkol moves its plants to Bera, Navarra, where its activity continues today. Once the monopoly of CAMPSA disappears , Verkol starts again with its motor oil production, being one of the first companies to obtain the license to produce these products.

Verkol presents today in its product portfolio a wide range of lubricants for the automotive sector, being a serious competitor in quality and price for any brand in the lubricants market.
