Lubricants can be classified in two main categories, oils and greases. Both of them proceed from the crude oil, but with different manufacturing processes.
We may define a grease as a pasty pseudo-plastic compound, made out of a base oil, thickened by an agent and mixed with another ingredients, called additives, which give or improve certain properties in the final product. |
